The two main types of modern art includes abstract art and surrealism. The six artists include both styles in their art works. For example, “The Elf in the Mountain” by Prof. Wu is based on the traditional Oriental calligraphy and he transforms his subconscious mind into a momentary abstract beauty through his skillful calligraphy. Prof. Hsieh’s art series “Land Flavor” praise the nature’s abstract calligraphy through his daily contemplation. The idea of the painting “Guan Zi Zai” by Prof. Meeifen Chen comes from the elements of Taiwanese theater which shows the surrealistic image through inner meditation. The male dancer who wears a traditional Japanese mask in the painting conveys the confusion change of a man’s inner heart.
We would like to show our appreciations to the Taipeh Vertretung in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland and Botschafter Prof. Dr. Shieh for all the supports, as well as the supports from Kaohsiung enterprises to make this exhibition happening.
