The Italo-Lebanese Cultural Institute (ICIL) presents “International Couture Fashion Show” introduced in ALTAROMA FASHION HUB calendar on January 27th – 6:30 P.M. in Prati Bus District official location. The “International Couture” fashion show is at its second edition and shows a collective of 4 International designers carefully selected by ICIL. Young and talented who come from different countries, some reveal their cultures and present on Altaroma’s catwalk real tailoring masterpieces achieved according to couture’s diktats. Evening gowns made by rich fabrics heightened with embroideries. International Couture is created and organized by ICIL Advisor Maria Christina Rigano in collaboration with Ramez Basmaji of “Fabusse”.
From New Delhi, Kartikeya presents in Altaroma the S/S 2019 collection entitled “Heroine of the Opera” which represents an ode to the Muse, Juliet. The young designer from New Delhi follows Juliet on a passionate journey towards stardom, fueled by a childhood dream that she chases relentlessly. Juliet grew up in the heart of a local opera, watching multiple performances of her hero from the stands-her mother. She spent many nights watching the stars of the show soaked in the applause. One day, it dawned on her that her hero was merely another expendable prop on the grand stage. As a member of the faceless crowd, she decided one day that she would grow up to own the spotlight. With strength born of steely determination that she will not be overshadowed, Juliet transforms herself into ‘Heroine of the Opera’. Kartikeya Spring Summer Couture 19 is a re-telling of Juliet’s tale about her powerful journey to come into her own. The collection emulates an Old World nostalgia interspersed with the powerful theatrics of the European opera culture in the late 1700s. There is a strong interjection of gothic romance within unyielding motifs inspired by Baroque architecture and lifestyle. Grand silhouettes in luxe velvets and flowing silks in deep romantic hues with handcrafted embellishments amidst trademark French.
‘Kartikeya’ is the solo debut of the co-founder of Dozakh, Nitin Kartikeya. Launched in 2013, the label strives to breathe a fresh new life into old world lore. Best described as a fleeting play on past eras, Kartikeya garments are heavily inspired by its founder’s dabble in theatre and film. This paradoxical nature adds a feeling of avante garde and surrealism to each piece. Brand Kartikeya focuses on women’s evening wear couture and is known for its exquisite embroidery techniques, romantic silhouettes and contemporary outlook. His creations have been worn by top celebrities and influencers across the globe. Nitin Kartikeya, the Founder and Director of the brand, has also been presented with the 21st century icon award for his craftsmanship, uniqueness and his vision for the brand in a recently concluded awards show in London.
Kartikeya has flagship stores in Mumbai and Delhi, India, and is currently retailing from more than 30 other retail outlets across the globe. The brand is available in the top stores across India and selective stores in UK, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Brazil and Trinidad and Tobago. Brand has been a member of top fashion councils in India and has been consistently showcasing on the runway the most recent being was showcase of their Autumn / Winter 2018 at Lakme India Fashion Week.
