After the success of the first edition, the winning format of “Something À La Mode” trunk show, created by the Fashion Curator Veronica Sheynina, is back to the Milan Fashion Week with some new names of the emerging designers. Voltry, a Made in Russia brand, is showcasing in Italy for the first time, presenting its eco-sustainable linen collection. While an Italian Sofia Alemani chooses the “Something À La Mode” event to present her new eclectic creations, after showcasing in Monte-Carlo and Rome.

VOLTRY

The Brand. Wearing eco-sostenibile collections has never been that fashionable! Being natural and sostainable is trendy and pretty. The marvellous transformations of linen and the stylish eco-ideas come from Russia – obviously, with love.

Voltry is a Russian brand of linen garments which history started almost half a century ago. Voltry creates unique elegant and cosy knitwear made of the famous eco-friendly natural linen yarn.

The brand was the first to use the linen yarn to produce knitwear, and thus became the pioneer of the linen knitwear industry in Russia.

Voltry runs its own production in the city of Vologda, close to Moscow. The brand is focused on producing garments from linen fabrics and using various manual processing methods that make the items unique and exclusive. Annually, Voltry produces six new collections, as well as accessories, footwear, bed and table linen.

Thus showcasing in Italy for the first time, Voltry has always been inspired by the Italian fashion. Few years ago the Russian eco-brand created a number of collections with an italian designer Luisa Marinucci.

The Collection. During the new edition of the Milan Fashion Week Voltry presents its Spring-Summer 2020 collection. The romantic patterns of the typical Vologda’s lace printed on fabric, casual outfits inspired by journeys and voyages, a sportswear collection a la Russe, jewellery, linen footwear, and shimmering looped knitwear with oriental design elements.

SOFIA ALEMANI

The Brand. Sofia Alemani, a visionary designer-architect, founded her brand Sofia Alemani – Fashion Creative in 2009 after an ecletic career experience in art, interior design, architecture and scenography.

From her first collections, presented during the Milan fashion week, Alta Roma fashion week in Rome and the Montecarlo Fahion Week, Sofia Alemani’s fashion project stands out for its unconventional idea: creating unique couture items, that are accessible and wearable even in the daytime .

A spontaneous and curious approach to the fabrics determines unusual fashion interpretations, where nothing is to be taken for granted. Couture items which are worn on the reverse, unexpected cuts, unexplored tactile suggestions. Because a perfect self-taught designer Sofia Alemani does not follow the established rules, she traces the different paths.

The Collection. “XXL vs XXS Capsule”, a fashion provocation where the curvy concept finally explodes in the joy of thousands of colors, in the sign of the maximalism.

“This special sport-chic ready-to-wear capsule is a shoutout to all the beautiful women, of different ages, nations and sizes, who are devoted to my brand, – Sofia Alemanni says. – I thank them because they still believe in the quality and creativity of the tailored garments, studied and created to emphasize the beauty of each woman”.

The trunk show has seen the partecipation of an extraordinary beauty Paola Torrente, the second in Miss Italia and Curvy beauty 2016. Born in Salerno, an engineering graduate, web icon and symbol of the Mediterranean beauty, Paola Torrente made her debut in the famous curvy calendar by Barbara Christmann.
