Eco-friendly fashion. Reworked collection
The Collection. This project is about conscious consumption. Since the advent of the mass market, our life has become unconscious and we did not know where a large production and endless release of garbage would lead to.
Therefore, the garbage dump in this photos did not appear as a beautiful screensaver, but in order to show which largest footprint we will leave after ourselves. The Earth has given us a lot of signs to make us think about global problems. But with releasing this collection we call everyone to action.”
An emerging fashion designer from Kazakhstan, Dzhanel Amangeldina, says:
“Why did I decide to make reworked collection?I mentioned that there’s already enough product that has been produced, and people now have a huge selection of clothes and there is a large amount of them in markets.
People are not able to buy everything that is produced for big markets and all those things become unnecessary waste. In the 21st century people are used to getting everything that they want very quickly and that has become a new problem in our world.
Fashion now makes a big effect on people. The fashion industry dictates what we can wear and what is unfashionable every month. People have addictions to buy new wardrobes, but “unfashionable” (but still useable) clothes are going to the trash every day. And this is the reason why I made my collection. In my collection I used leftover fabrics from the atelier and second-hand clothes”.
